Osteopathy for Dancers and Sportspersons
Dancers, like athletes, have demands related to range of motion not usually called upon in everyday life.
As a result knees, ankles, feet , along with lower back require extra attention. This is especially important to do at the first realization a problem is arising in order to prevent a chronic repetitive injury occurring that would stop the chosen dance style or sporting field they are perusing. Colleen understands these dance demands having worked as an Osteopath with dancers from NAISDA indigenous dance school.
Dancers and sportspersons need assessment for imbalance of muscle groups that can occur with high level of training in a specific dance style or area of a sport. Alterations or additions to current exercise or stretch programmes can assist rehabilitation. Colleen can diagnose the problem and assess for that or refer as required.
